ジャック・スピラ緊急来日！＆東京ハンドクラフトギターフェス出展！

5月24日（土）25日（日）に東京ハンドメイドギターフェスティバルに、
「ジャック・スピラ・ギターズ・ジャパン」として出展します。
ジャックのギターを日本で見て試奏していただけるチャンスです。
しかも！今回はジャック・スピラも初来日。
とっても優しい雰囲気の素敵な方なのでぜひ会いに来て下さいね
写真は先日キャンベラで行われた、ナショナル･フォーク･フェスティバルで撮影したものです。
左はジャック・スピラ、右は弊社代表の関根弘幸です。

このときは東京行きが予定されているトンボのインレイのJS-1C、
ケルトの伝統的なデザインのインレイ（犬が尻尾をくわえているモチーフ）のJS-3C、
さらにオーストラリアで人気のアイリッシュミュージックに使うアイリッシュ・ブズーキ、
クラシックギター、0000タイプ、が展示され、多くの方々の注目を集めていました。
今回東京では、JS-1C、JS-3C、JS-5ACの３点の展示が予定されています。

彼のギターは、オーストラリアのみならず、イギリス、アメリカ、マレーシアなど各国に多くのファンを持っています。
ユーザーには誰もが知っている超大物アーティストも！
長年お付き合いが長いお客様のも彼のギターと人柄への信頼の証でしょう。
オーストラリア国内でもプロのミュージシャンが２本３本とリピートオーダーしています。
すべての工程（もちろんインレイも）を一人で作業しているので、一本作るのに最低２ヶ月、
オーダーしてから通常6ヶ月、長いときで1年かかります。
１７歳からギターを作り始めて２８年、「ギター製作家以外の人生は考えられなかった」という程
ギター作りにのめりこんできました。　現在約300本のギターを世に出しています。
（ほかには、アイリッシュ・ブズーキを製作しています）
そんなジャックのギターを日本でも入手できるようになりました！


左から小さい順に、JS-1C、JS-3C、JS-5AC（アームレストつき）です。

コンサートあり、手作りウクレレ教室あり、ギターワークショップあり。
職人さんに出会える貴重な機会となっている、今年で10年目の魅力的なフェスティバルです。
会場は錦糸町駅前の丸井の上です。皆様のご来場を心よりお待ちしています。

最初にご紹介するギターは、今回のなかで一番大きなモデル　JS-5ACです。
先日ジャックの工房を訪ねたときに、弦を張るところでした。
こちらが弦をはる前。

あっという間に弦がはられていきます。


弦をはったら、弦高を見ながら、ナットの溝を再調整します。

Set Up
ダブル構造のトラスロッド、その両サイドにはカーボンファイバー　
スキャロップドブレイシング
弦高設定は、1弦が12フレットで1.9mm、6弦が12フレットで2.5mm

今回の３つのギターの中では一番大きなボディです。
重厚感と華やかさを兼ね備えた美しい音色です。

まずはヘッドから。小さな星たちが埋め込まれています。
ひとつひとつ小さな貝を溝を作って埋め込むので、大変な作業です。

フィンガーボードには、天の川があり、小さな星たちが立体的に見えます。

ボディとロゼッタです。
ボディはアディロンダック・スプルースを使用。力強く響きのよい音色です。
ロゼッタには、細かな星たちと、人工衛星も！
星の形はジャックが自分で糸のこで貝殻をひとつひとつ切っています。
天の川の細かい星は、数種類の貝殻をくだいてちりばめています。
天の川に関しては指板に溝を作り、貝殻を置いて黒く染めたポリエステルを流し込んでいます。
指板とともに磨いているので、段差もなく、堅さの変化も感じられません。
ロゼッタも同じ作り方です。

ブリッジもジャック・スピラオリジナルのもので、ひとつひとつ手作りです。
ニスを毎日塗って乾かすので、これひとつでも、完成まで数日かかります。

JS-4ACはコンター（アームレスト）がついています。
こちらもジャックの手仕事で美しく仕上がりました。

バックからの写真です。
インディアン・マウンテン・ローレルを使用。ココボロに近い音質です。

こちらはエンドピン周辺。
サイドの板が、大変美しく接合させています。

続いてご紹介するのは、JS-1C、ジャック・スピラオリジナルモデルの中で
一番小さいボディのものです。
繊細な音色がらも音量があり、フィンガーピッキングスタイルのギターを演奏される方にぴったりです。
長さに対して幅が広いボディですが、
独特の丸みのあるサウンドに、十分な低音と、大きくてパンチのある音を与えています。
他の楽器やギターと一緒の演奏で、より良く音を聞かせたい場合にも適しています。

フィンガーボードには今回、美しい２匹のトンボ（dragon fly）のインレイがほどこされています。

Set Up
ダブル構造のトラスロッド、その両サイドにはカーボンファイバー
スキャロップドブレイシング
弦高設定は、1弦が12フレットで1.9mm、6弦が12フレットで2.5mm

ヘッドは中央がエボニー、両側がブラックウッドのサップウッド（辺材）を使った２トーンカラー。
サップウッドに現われているラインは、自然に腐食した木が作り出すラインで
ひとつとして同じものはありません。

透き通るようなトンボのインレイ。トンボは世界中で幸運の印として愛されています。

上部のトンボ　細かな羽の模様もジャックの手仕事によるものです。

下部（ボディ側）のトンボ

ボディはカッタウェイ。サウンドボードは、シトカ・スプルースです。

ロゼッタもジャックオリジナル。
自作の寄木細工と貝を組み合わせています。
サウンドホールに細い細工を組み合わせて行くので、これも大変な作業です。

ロゼッタを作るプロセス
同じロゼッタではありませんが、このように細い寄木細工を何層にも組み合わせます。
今回のモデルでは中央にアワビもほどこされ、より華やかな印象に。

サイド・バックにはオーストラリアンブラックウッドを使用。美しい木目がきわだっています。
バインディング（ふちどり）にはエボニーを使用。
サウンドボードとサイドバックの間で濃いブラウンが添えられ、双方の美しさを引き出しています。

３本目にご紹介するギターは、JS-3C
日本向けギター第２弾の３本の中では、真ん中のサイズです。

指板には伝統的なケルトの図案がインレイとなって、大きく豪華に施されました。
バックにももうひとつのインレイが。

ヘッドはエボニーとオーストラリアン・ブラックウッドの２トーンカラー。

フィンガーボードの中央には大きなインレイが配置されています。
２種類の貝を組み合わせて、ゴールドとシルバーが輝いています。
ケルトの伝統模様、犬が尻尾をくわえるモチーフで2匹の犬が組み合わせられたデザインです。
このモチーフは、忠誠、誠実のシンボル。
尻尾をくわえているのは、終わりがなく始まりがない、永遠、または輪廻転生をあらわす
ケルトの典型的な意匠で、同じような柄が蛇やドラゴンなどに見られます。
ケルトのデザインは神秘的で人気があり、日本の皆さんもアクセサリーなどで
いろいろな機会に目にしていることでしょう。

こちらはボディ。サウンドボードはシトカ･スプルース。
ジャック・スピラオリジナルのブレイシング、そのほかの様々な工夫により、
高音部は華やかで繊細な、低音部はしっかりとしたサウンドで仕上がっています。
ロゼッタもJS-1Cと同じく、ジャック・スピラの凝った寄木細工を組み合わせた、オリジナルロゼッタです。

サイド・バックは、インディアン・ローズウッド。赤みのある美しい縞模様が生かされています。
ネックヒールのすぐ下にも、ケルティックドッグのインレイが。
自分からしか見えない愉しみをどうぞ。

こちらがバックのケルティックドッグのアップです。
小さなパーツをいくつも組み合わせた精巧なインレイです。

バインディング（ギターのふち飾り）も、明るいブラウンを用いて、
サウンドボードとサイドのコントラストを際立たせています。

ジャック・スピラのギターは、ネックにダブル構造のトラスロッドが装備され、
その両側にはカーボンファイバーが入っています。
カーボンファイバーは大変軽くて強く、音質の向上のために入れたものですが、
同時にネックの強度を増すことにも貢献しています。
